Our Story

I'm an indie developer who has seen many videos online of foreign friends writing Chinese characters. These videos are often fascinating, and I've discovered that Chinese writing is a significant challenge for many foreign learners.

The Problem

Many people simply 'draw' Chinese characters like pictures without understanding structure and stroke order. This approach prevents them from ever writing well.

Our Vision

I developed LaoWai Writes to solve this problem using technology (AI + dynamic demonstrations), making Chinese character practice intuitive, scientific, and free.
